It's taken a couple of months but finally, we are delighted to release the first of a number of collaborations with other New Mexican artisans.

This first is a handmade ceramic dish by Jane of Clay Play Co here in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

You can see more of her work at her ETSY STORE

 or on her INSTAGRAM

Jane and I are both vendors at the Santa Fe Railyard Artisan Market on Sundays and we got to talking one market and here we are.

Turns out Jane lives around the corner from me in Albuquerque, so that makes it even better. I get to pick up the dishes when they're ready and stop and have a coffee and a chat.

The dishes are in white, reminiscent of the practical nature of pottery that was used by servants when they were keeping things clean.

The fragrance is that of fresh laundry hanging out to dry in a light summer breeze.

As they did back then and as they still do in Australia (and in my house cause I'm Australian).

Laundry never smelled so good and hanging it outside to dry naturally in the sunlight not only saves electricity but sunlight is a natural disinfectant. OK I'm off on a tangent.

The point being that fragrance is just wonderful.

And one of the best selling fragrances on the market in anyone's candles.

We knew we had to make it.

The handmade dish can be used after the wax has burned away too, as the little work of art it truly is, so there is no waste. These are handmade dishes, each one is different and unique.

All our candles are made with a luxury blend of coconut, soy and beeswax to ensure that it is safe for your home.

Each of our luxury candles comes with a free black slate heat mat.

  • How to Get the Most Out of Your Handmade Natural Candle

Each candle is crafted with a premium coconut soy beeswax blend, ensuring a clean, long-lasting, and eco-friendly burn.

    CANDLE CARE INSTRUCTIONS

    • Trim the Wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch. This helps prevent excessive smoke, soot, and uneven burning.
    • First Burn Matters
Allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the container on your first burn. This prevents tunneling and ensures an even melt pool for future burns. After the first burn the wax may not return to its original smooth surface, you may notice that it has cooled to a ‘bumpy’ surface. This is perfectly normal for natural waxes and does not detract from the quality of your candle.
    • Burn Time
For best results, burn your candle for 2–4 hours at a time. Avoid burning for more than 4 hours to prevent overheating or wick shifting.
    • Keep It Clean
Ensure your candle is free from debris like wick trimmings or matches before lighting it.
    • Safety First
Always place your candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, flammable materials, and out of reach of children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Unlike paraffin wax candles, natural wax blends can behave a little differently. We’d like you to understand the quirks so you continue to love your natural candles.

    Why Does My Candle "Sweat"?

Our coconut soy beeswax blend is made with natural ingredients that are sensitive to temperature fluctuations. Sweating (small beads of oil on the surface) can occur when candles are exposed to changes in temperature like heat or humidity or extreme cold during shipping or storage or when we transport our candles to attend markets.

“Don’t sweat it”, this is completely normal and does not affect the performance of your candle in any way.

What to Do If Your Candle Sweats:

    • Gently wipe away any excess oil with a soft cloth or tissue before lighting your candle.
    • Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or extreme temperature fluctuations.

    My Candle Looks Lumpy

After the first burn the wax may not return to its original smooth surface, you may notice that it has cooled to a ‘lumpy bumpy’ surface. This is perfectly normal for natural waxes and does not detract from the quality of your candle.

    Enjoy Your Candle!

Each natural candle is unique, just like people.

Slight variations in appearance are a sign of its handmade nature and high-quality ingredients.
